Self Realization Fellowship

Founded early last century by world renowned yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda, the Self Realization Fellowship in Encinitas was one of the first sites in the west to receive and embrace the coming wave of eastern teachings, spiritual doctrines, and philosophies.  High above the cliffs of San Elijo beach, its easy to see why this particular location was chosen by the enlightened yogi.  It truly has an enchanting and deeply rejuvenating energy throughout.  For years, the meditation gardens overlooking the pacific have been one of my favorite destinations.  And in the vein of showing off more work that never made it to see the light of day, I decided to share a project I made years and years ago that was never published.  Its an homage to the gardens, the space, and the sacred energy found there.  The photos were all taken to supply ample fodder for the last photo illustration image you see below.  If you’re curious about SRF, they have locations all over the world, and you can get more info at their website: www.yogananda-srf.org  Or if you will ever be in the neighborhood of Encinitas, drop in… you’ll be glad you did.
